Vintage Style Panst - 1936 Chopper Pant 11oz Metal
Our 1936 Chopper Pant has its origins in woodworking. Trousers for carpenters or joiners have undergone a special development as normal work trousers in the last century. Typical details were often the patch front pockets and a folding rule pocket on the thigh. Like other work trousers from this period, the cut was very wide and the waistband high, as they were intended as overtrousers. To prevent the trousers from getting lost due to the wide cut, braces buttons and a waist belt were an integral part of the trousers of the time.
All these details can also be found on our Chopper Pant from 1936. The wide cut and high waistband are particularly comfortable and offer very good freedom of movement. The large pockets on the front and back offer plenty of storage space and the typical folding rule pocket is also not missing. Another detail is the D-ring on the front, which was intended for the chain of the pocket watch. Of course, the small matching pocket for the watch is not missing either.
The name, by the way, does not come from chopper motorbike culture, but from "to cut down a tree". The direct connection to woodworking.
We made the 11oz Selvage Denim on old shuttle looms in Turkey. The looms were lovingly restored years ago and are now back in use to produce a denim that was common at the beginning of the last century.
